Many know that last year, I was chosen to represent the Philippines in the Disciples Escoffier Young Talent Trophy, at the Restaurant and Bar Show in Hong Kong, where I managed to bring home the ‘Best Dessert Award’. A sweet victory for me, indeed.
This year, last May 10, took place the Philippine selection, at GreenSun hotel. The hunt was on for the next candidate to take my place and fly the flag in Hong Kong for the Young Talent Trophy.
Having been last year’s candidate, I was invited to join the panel of judges and talk to the prospective candidates for the next Young Talent Trophy competition.
We watched as the candidates whipped up their culinary creations using their state-of-the-art Breville equipment. In the end, my successor was chosen, to look forward to many months of training and preparation, before taking place in the 2016 Disciples Escoffier Young Talent Trophy!
